Who's right here, I am.

Just because I have the time to post 4 blog entries in like four hours doesn't mean I have time to type an entire movie synopsis via iChat. If Google can answer a question why ask a human.

Virgins

S, FOB/Certified Badass Alex D., some other neat lay-deeeez and I are going to The Virgins concert in a couple of days here in el ciudad. Not a HUGE fan or anything, and I'm pretty sure their album is in solid rotation at the CW Headquarters as Gossip Girl soundtrack music.. and also played in mall stores like Hollister / Abercrombie for awkward tweens. But tickets were only $15 and after a couple of Blueberry Stoli-and-diets (shoutout K.D.) I'm sure it'll be a good time. And the venue is cool (Bowery Ballroom), and the show is sold out at least.

One Week of Danger (just song).

And speaking of awkward tweens, you can check out their myspace here.

Speaking of Hungover

NY Mag has an article about how my fellow females are consuming an intense amount of alcohol these days. In the world of NYC, alcohol is basically the second food group to cupcakes.

"Drinking is our go-to activity. Meeting a friend implies going to a bar. Having a meal implies a round of cocktails beforehand. A party implies a serious hangover"

For some reason, the article relates this increase of intoxication to the feminist theory that drinking equals power for many women. The power to work hard and play hard in many male dominated industries.

I say true on some accounts and false on others. The S theory is a little different - it could potentially boil down to the idea that when you work till 4 in the morning and sit for 17 hours in a chair, who wouldn't want to kick back the vodka? No feminist theory, no shenanigans regarding power, just plain and simple - the need to release, drink up, and have fun.

Random Thoughts

I was zoning out hardcore on the subway this evening and I think that Gossip Girl (which is on tonight t-36 minutes!) should have a spinoff show called Rumor Lady which takes place in an old people home and deals with the scandalous lives of the elderly. This will be a cool home though, think grandpas playing Wii and grannies wearing vintage Chanel.

Potential plots:
-Cheating at gin rummy / placing bets = creating enemies
-Love affairs. Husband & wife couples homewrecked by widows
-Drug/pill smuggling, obviously
-Like on Gossip Girl where the rumors/gossip gets posted on that website, there will be a cork board outside of the dining area where the hippest grandma (but also anonymous) will get her clique to tack up the day's news before evening tea before bedtime (8pm).

If "Rumor Lady" doesn't fly as a title, another possibility could be "The Home"

This stems from my idea of a clothing store for older people that is a spinoff of Forever 21, called Forever 58. Which is a more mature, older version of Forever 21.

I may delete this post in a few hours because it's embarrassing so if you're one of the lucky few who get to read it I'm sorry.

Slumdog Millionaire.

A and I went to see Slumdog Millionaire last night and it was incred. Watch that shiz.

Not only was the movie fab but the soundtrack was dope (roll back to the 1990's for that adjective). Renowned composer A.R. Rahman laid the music (he's known as the "Indian Timbaland") and some of his stuff features the talented and currently pregnant MIA.

Check it below:

Why mimosa... why not sunshine? Or light bulb?

Either way.. this color on me would bring me to Corpse status.
